Ohio State Parks on the Air (OSPOTA)

Just an FYI to the group, I placed a reservation for the Marzolf Shelter House at Harrison Lake State Park on September 9. This is the date for the annual Ohio State Parks on the Air contest ( http://www.ospota.org/ospota/index.php).  In the past few years we have combined the contest with a cookout for the club members as an "end of summer" event.  Let me know if you will be by to either operate, socialize, partake in the cookout, or all of the above.

Due to the nature of the contest, and the limited band and mode selection, it is not practical to run more then 3 rigs in that confined area.  The contest is SSB only, on 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10. The goal is to try to contact other parks in the state of Ohio, so NVIS is the name of the game.  In the past we have found 80, 40, and 20 to be about the best for working within the state.

I propose we setup stations that are assigned to one of those frequencies (40 can also run on 15 without much effort, and 10 can be a wildcard assigned to one of the other stations).  There will be more details as the event draws closer.
