The club has has been invited back to the Delta Chicken Festival this year.  A major change is that we will be setting up our club table and radio rigs with the Delta Police and Fire & Rescue.  This is a huge deal since we are being presented to the public as part of the county's emergency responders.  Another honor is that we will be right next to a piece of the world trade center.  We will be assisting with the parade on Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm as well.  The Delta Police were very impressed with how well we assisted in managing traffic and would like our help again this year.  The Chicken Festival runs July 8th-10th.

kc8zbc and kd8kbu start to unpackThe bands have gone quiet and the antennas have been stowed away.  Field Day 2011 is over and I think it was a pretty good success.  We had fantastic weather for the duration of the contest, the 6 meter band was open, and 10 meter yielded great results as well.  Thanks to all the people who helped with setup and tear down, and everyone who stopped out to talk and observe.  Despite a few minor technical glitches with the wireless logging network early on (nothing lost except a few hours of my time), we had a very efficient and compact setup for a 7A + GOTA.  Here are some highlights from the logging we captured I'd like to share:

Field Day 2011

VE Testing will be held this Saturday at the Field Day location in Tedrow at 101 Hill Avenue (just 2 miles west of Turnpike exit 34 on County Rd J).  Testing begins at 10:30am sharp, walk-ins are welcome.

June Meeting Notes

Here are some notes from the June 20th club meeting.

Due to a miscommunication with county officials, we did not have access to our normal meeting location at the County Administration Building.  Being typical resourceful HAMs and having exceptionally nice weather, we improvised a last minute meeting location at Homecoming Park in Wauseon under one of the pavilions.  While not the ideal location for a large meeting, we were able to conduct our meetings quite effectively and got some fresh air while we were at it.

The meeting was called to order at 7:45PM, and we had 22 club members in attendance.  Minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted, as well as the Treasurers report.  Individual committee reports follow:

June Meeting Reminder

The next club meeting will be held on June 20th at the County Administration Building (same location as the BMV/License Bureau), 152 S Fulton St, Wauseon, OH. The club meeting will be at 7:30pm.

I want to thank everyone who responded to the Field Day Roll Call, it is a tremendous help in planning that event.  I also want to remind everyone that we are looking to update our club logo.  Our current T-Shirt logo is simply a tower silhouette with the club name. Please submit any ideas to me and I'll get them on an area of the website for the club to vote on.
