With severe weather season in full swing, the radio club is trying to get an idea of how many members and amateur radio operators in the County area have emergency power provisions for their radio equipment. If you currently have some form of backup power on your VHF/UHF equipment, please respond to either myself (kd8kbu@arrl.net) or Bryan Patterson (kb8elg@hotmail.com) with your current setup.
Craig Szczublewski - FCARC Vice President

We are looking to refresh our club logo/design (mostly for the purpose of branding on T-Shirts and other apparel).  Our current supply of club t-shirts is down to just a few, so now is a great time for us to freshen up our look. We would like to ask our club members to consider submitting their ideas for a new logo.  Once we've gathered a few ideas, well have a vote at a future meeting.  Prior to that, we'll list the submitted ideas on the club website so everyone can make their decision before voting.  To get the pool started, here is a logo idea I put together in about 20 minutes (yes, it's a little rough around the edges):

Here are some notes form this evenings meeting.

Education/VE Committee Report:

David Nelson reported that we are once again listed as a monthly exam location on the ARRL website.  We had no 2011 listings which may have accounted for no inquires in the past few months.  We also discussed the possibility of sponsoring a technician level class over the course of several weekends, followed by an exam session.  Other area clubs have had good success in providing this service recently.

Repeater Committee Report:

The April club meeting will be held on April 18th at the County Administration Building (same location as the BMV/License Bureau), 152 S Fulton St, Wauseon, OH. The club meeting will be at 7:30pm.

Spring Hamfests

Here are some regional Hamfests coming up for April/May within easy driving range of Fulton County:

As always, please check the ARRL Hamfest schedule for further details.

March Meeting Summary

We had a great club meeting this evening with 20 people in attendance. The County Admin Building will be our new home for future meetings as well. I'd like to thank both Bryan Patterson, the FCARC Club President and Paul Barnaby, the Fulton County Commissioner, for helping with this. Topics of discussion this meeting included repeater improvements, moving the repeater trustee to Ed Roth, and possible logo redesign for club apparel like shirts and sweatshirts. Reminder that the club Hamfest is Saturday, June 4th!
