At this time we are still planning on holding the monthly club meeting on February 21st at the County Administration Building (same location as the BMV/License Bureau). The club meeting will be at 8:00pm (note the time change for this meeting.). Thanks to Brian Patterson for working diligently with the County Commissioner to find us a temporary spot until a more permanent home can be finalized.

2011 FCARC Hamfest

The Hamfest date has been set for June 4th, 2011, so mark your calendars and we hope to see you in Tedrow.  The flyer can be downloaded hereThe Fulton County Amateur Radio Club holds a Hamfest and Tailgate Party on the first Saturday in June.

We had a great Saturday morning testing session.  The VE Team issued a General class license and an Extra class license to two individuals.  Don't forget the Henry County radio club to our south will be having an exam session on February 12th, and the Fulton County club will be having it's usual end of the month exam session on February 26th.  As a reminder, the General Class question pool is valid until June 30th of this year.  Starting July 1 a new question pool will be in use.

As anticipated, Ed Roth (WD8KRS) stepped down after many years of service to the Radio Club as President. Replacing him will be Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG). The other club officers for 2011 are VP/Craig Szczublewski (KD8KBU), Treasurer/Lu Ann Kuney (KB8ELH), and Secretary/Angela Infante... (KB2AVN). Thanks to all in attendance at our temporary location. And thanks to Paul Barnaby, the Fulton County Commissioner, for making the Agricultural building available to the club on such short notice. In other news, the Hamfest is set for June 4th, 2011, and the club will also have a table at the Toledo Hamfest in March.

The Monday meeting will not be at the old board of education building in Wauseon. It will be at the Soil and Water office at 8770 St Rt 108 across from the Fulton County Fairgrounds. The meeting time is still 7:30pm. We were told the old board of education building is experiencing issues and would not be available. The county commissioner was certainly more then accommodating to open the Soil and Water building for our use on Monday.

The question was posed the other evening about the origins of Bud's Midnight Madness Net.  Most of this was pieced together from Dave Nelson, KA8KDS.....
