The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG) with 21 members and guests in attendance on the 147.195 repeater.
 
Members in Distress: nothing to report.
 
Treasurers Report: no report given on air.
 
Hamfest Committee: The next FCARC sponsored Hamfest will be the summer trunk swap on June 6, 2020, followed by the Winter Hamfest on December 5, 2020.
 
Repeater Committee: We need to schedule a HVAC check in April.
 
Old Business:
Additional repeater shed maintenance needs to be performed after spring rain has subsided.
 
New Business:

  • The state of the Summer hamfest is still a go. The Ohio Department of Health has published guidelines for outdoor sales and garage sales, which our hamfest would fall under:

  • While we will provide beverage sales (water and soda) no food items will be offered for sale. We ask all attendees to follow the guidelines outlines in the website link above, or please stay home. The plan will be to meet at the woodlot on June 5 in the evening to rope off the vendor area and plan spacing.

Good of Amateur Radio:
 
KB8ELG reminded everyone of our Saturday breakfast at the 109 should resume this coming Saturday, May 23.
 
Correspondence/Comments: 

  • KD8KBU inquired about obtaining door prizes, maybe a NanoVNA antenna analyzer.
  • W8TUX suggested 15 foot spacing between trunk sale vendors. Some suggestions for door prizes included a repair kit or soldering station.
  • WD8KRS will take car of ordering the port-o-john
  • KD8ITJ suggested a SDR dongle as a door prize
  • KD8PUD inquired about VE testing and offered to assist Ed in mowing the woodlot.

VE Testing: All testing sessions have resumed. The club gives testing at 9am the last Saturday of each month at the George's Radio Service in Wauseon, contact Tom Servoss (KC8UOM) if interested, you can find his phone number on the www.k8bxq.org website under the VE Testing section.
 
Saturday morning breakfasts are planned to resume on Saturday May 23, 2020 at the Delta 109 at 9:00 AM, in downtown Delta, OH.
 
The next regular club meeting will be Monday, June 15, 2020 at 7:30pm with location TBD.
