Repeater Committee: An annual PM is being planned on primary site, including: checking heat, check for water damage, etc. We’ll notify view email of the planned date as the weekend gets closer. Discussion ensured about plans for other repeater; will continue to discuss. 

Emergency Services: not discussed

Field Day Committee: hands on demonstrations of how to build antennas? 

Hamfest Committee: The Winter Hamfest was a success. The Club yielded $765 after expenses. KB8ELG is discussing long term contract with City of Archbold for Ruihley Park Pavilion. Will continue to discuss. Ideas for improvements for Hamfest: Radio to Santa? Delay of start time with consideration to safety (dark, potential inclement weather, etc). More food trucks? Commute attendees via golf cart from parking lot to front door? Hamfest signage? Preparedness display?  

The Summer Hamfest has been registered with the ARRL for June of 2022.

2022 Christmas Party: 2021 Christmas Part at Delta 109 too tight? 2022: Buffet vs sit-down meal? Coordinate with restaurant with reduced planned menu? Barn Restaurant/Das Essenhaus/Sullivans? Will continue to discuss.

Officer Elections: President: KB8ELG, verified by KE8VTJ and KE8ITJ. Vice President: KD8ZKE, verified by WB8ZOI and KE8QFJ. Treasurer: W8TUX, verified by KE8QFJ and KE8ITJ. Recording Secretary: KE8OKA, verified by KE8ITJ and KB8REG. KB8ZKE will co-learn/oversee finances/books. Farmers and Merchants Bank acct: only elected trustees/members will be signers. 

Old Business:

  • Club shirts: were passed out to members who ordered
  • The future of pneumatic mast trailer is an intent to sell it to an individual or club.  We have a few leads but are still looking for a buyer. 
  • Regarding integration of DMR into any K8BXQ repeater system, no new developments to report at this time.

New Business:

  • Should FCARC meetings be broadcasted on Zoom? DMR?
  • Growth of FCARC: 50% have been members >5 years and <5 years. People interested because of Preparedness? Reach out to Four County/Northwest State/Scouting to spark more interest? KE8ITJ church in Wauseon will be having Amateur Radio Technician classes on Saturdays. All are welcome.

Latest Club Information:

VE Testing: The club gives testing at 9 am the last Saturday of each month at the Masonic Lodge (Fulton No. 248) in Delta, contact John Myers (KD8ZKE) if interested, you can find his email address on the k8bxq.org website under the VE Testing section.

Saturday morning breakfast at the Delta 109 at 9:00 AM, in downtown Delta, OH.

The next regular club meeting will be February 21, 2022 at Fulton County Administration Building in the Conference Room on the second floor.

September 2019 Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:45pm by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG) with 16 members in attendance, the pledge of allegiance was given by all.

Members in Distress:

Bev Walworth (KC8UJC) continues to make health improvements. George (N8EUY) has a problem with his laptop and is looking for some assistance at the woodlot where they are staying.

The Treasurers report was given a motion was made to accept it by Dave Claar (W8TUX) and seconded by Bob Rosebrock (WB8ZOI), all were in favor.

Hamfest Committee:

The Winter Hamfest is December 7th, 2019.  The location will be the Village of Delta Memorial Hall, the same location as last year. The event has been filed with the ARRL and preparations are under way.  Larry Fountain (KD8PUD) is once again allowing us use of his 8 foot folding tables to get as much sales space as we can.  The club will be reaching out to K8LI to get tickets printed.  The website is already updated for the times and location of the Hamfest.

The summer Hamfest is set for June 6, 2020.  The location will be at the Roth Family Woodlot again.

Bev Walworth (KC8UJC) continues to recover from several health issues, please keep both George (N8EUY) and Bev in your thoughts. We did have Allen Nash (KC8UQU) in our company this evening who continues to improve from his hip surgery.

The treasures report was given and a motion to accept was made by Bill Lampe (KD8WSL) and seconded by Ed Roth (WD8KRS).

There was one bill to present for the flowers for Jim Roth's funeral.  On a side note, Ed Roth thanks the club for the attention and condolences.   

A motion to pay the bill was made by KD8PUD and seconded by W8TUX.

July 2019 Minutes

Hi folks,

As promised, here are the club meeting notes for July 15, 2019.

The meeting was called to order by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG) at 7:30pm with 12 members and 1 guest in attendance, the pledge was given by all.  

Members in Distress:

Since their return, Bev Walworth (KC8UJC) has been struggling with some health issues.  While she is recovering, please keep both George (N8EUY) and Bev in your thoughts.

The treasures report was given and a motion to accept was made by Bill Lampe (KD8WSL) and seconded by Ed Roth (WD8KRS).

Repeater Committee:

We still have structural repairs to make to the primary building before the end of the year.  We will wait until autumn at this point to get past the heat of summer.  Plans are to replace the trim boards and apply a fresh coat of paint.  Bryan (KB8ELG) will make a wellness check on the building to see how the new air conditioning system is working.

Hi folks,

The meeting notes from last months meeting slipped through the cracks for me, I am getting those out now.  Thanks to KB8ELH for taking this notes while I was out of town.  July's meeting notes will follow shortly:

The June meeting of the Fulton County Amateur Radio Club was called to order at 7:35PM by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG) at the Delta Church of Christ in Delta, with 11 members and 3 guests present.  The pledge was recited by all.

It was reported that Allen Nash (KC8UQU) is doing well after a hip replacement, and Jim McBride (K8JPD) is doing well after his second knee replacement. It is also reported that Bob Switzer (WA8BHP) became a silent key. 

The finance report was read.  Bob Rosebrock (WB8ZOI) made a motion to accept it, which was seconded by Dave Claar (W8TUX), all approved.

Bills were presented for Field Day and Hamfest expenses.  Cass Telles (KD8MNG) made a motion to pay the bills which was seconded by Dave Claar (W8TUX).

The hamfest saw a revenue of $430, and favorable reports were received from vendors and attendees.

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG) with 12 members and guests in attendance.

Silent Key: Jack Joyner (N8BSR) passed away in April, several club members attended the funeral services.

   - Jim McBride (K8JPD) had knee surgery in January, current reports is that he is at home and continuing to recover nicely.

   - Dave Nelson (KA8KDS) had a heart related incident on January 25 requiring a pacemaker. He was at tonight's meeting and reports feeling well.

KD8KBU will be presenting a digital mode workshop on March 2 at the Fulton Masonic Lodge in Delta from noon until 3pm.  The focus will be on getting started in popular HF operating modes like RTTY, PSK, and FT8.  A detailed email will follow.

October 2018 Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG) with 15 members and guests in attendance.

* $86.61 for OSPOTA Picnic, a motion was made by Dave Claar (W8TUX) to pay, second by Bill Lampe (KD8WSL), all present approved.

Repeater Report:

* The Fusion repeater is still in QRP mode.  We plan to perform maintenance to the system once we have a new set of duplexors and can bring the power level up.

* We are still planning a maintenance day for the primary site, probably sometime end of October or after, to perform exterior maintenance, including repair to the wood trim and paint.

* KB8ELG found a combination heating and air conditioning unit for $365. He will work on getting it ordered before the snow starts to fall.
