5/19/24: The meeting was called to order at the Wauseon Municipal Building Firemen's Training Room, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, OH 43567 at 7:30 pm by Bryan Patterson (KB8ELG). 21 members and guests were in attendance, introductions were made and the Pledge of Allegiance was given by all.

Officer update: K8CAG has stepped down as Vice President per work schedule. KB8ELG appointed Lee Sanders KE8BHW who accepted. KB8QJF has stepped down as Treasurer. KB8ELG appointed Kim Allen KE8ITJ who accepted.

Treasurer's Report: reported by KB8ELG and KE8ITJ. Bill to report: $51.50 for reservation to Independence Dam State Park Clevenger Shelter House for June Ham and Coffee (POTA) by KE8OKA. Motion to approve: KE8QFJ and KC8PCU. Approved to reimburse.

Ham and Coffee (POTA) was held Saturday May 11 at Mary Jane Thurston State Park in Grand Rapids, OH. Next Ham and Coffee (POTA) will be June 8 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Independence Dam State Park in Defiance, OH, Clevenger Shelter House. 

Solar Eclipse Coins from Fulton County EMA distributed to members who participated in the net. Fulton County EMA swag generously donated and distributed. 

AA8YY is coordinating AR Newsline to air on K8BXQ repeater on Wednesdays and Sundays 7:00-7:30PM.

KB8ELG reports duplexers have been ordered from Bridgecom. Anticipated arrival time: approximately three weeks. Cost including shipping: $3245.  Will be pre-tuned by Bridgecom. Plug and play– no need to climb a tower. Longevity ~20 years. Current duplexers will be transferred to back-up repeater. Motion to approve by KE8QFJ and W8TUX. Approved. 

KB8ELG is exploring various means of bringing wireless internet to the primary repeater shed. As positive feedback has been obtained by FCHC, no final decision yet. 

Discussion about having FCARC table at various events to spark interest and conversation. KE8OKA discussed making up “You’re Invited” cards to hand out to people interested in FCARC and events. 

Summer Hamfest and Summer Field Day at Woodlot in Tedrow. May be looking for another place to hold the Summer events in the future. American Legion in Delta? Homecoming Park in Wauseon? 

Summer Hamfest 6/1/24. Will be held at Woodlot in Tedrow. Looking for a food truck. Tickets are being printed. Potential door prizes discussed. Budget~$500. 50/50 raffle. KD8PUD offer $50 raffle for vendors staying late into hamfest. 

Summer Field Day 6/22-23/24 at Woodlot. Come to socialize or contest. FCARC owns our own generator– KE8BHW or KB8ELG will bring. Potluck/Catered? 

70th Birthday of FCARC. WD8KRS will not be in town until late in the summer. Should the birthday be celebrated during or separately from Summer Field Day June 22-23/24? Vote: during– 4 votes; separately–8 votes. Should it be celebrated on 7/27/24 on its own or during OSPOTA 9/7/24? Vote: 7/27/24 at Woodlot– 1 vote; during OSPOTA–11 votes. Per votes, 70th Birthday of FCARC will be celebrated 9/7/24 at Harrison Lake State Park during OSPOTA. Discussion about advertising in the local newspaper and a gift for the Roth Family in appreciation for their overwhelming generosity for the past 70 years.

Fulton County Police is requesting our help with various events. 5/27/24 Masonic Lodge breakfast at 0800-- help with parking. Parade from 0900-1100. 

Independence Day fireworks Swanton/Delta held on various dates. Super Cruises in Wauseon, Crosley 7/8/24-7/13/24 at Fulton County Fairgrounds. Parade 7/11/24. 

Dyer & McDermott Building. Proposed suggestion that FCARC merge with Crosley Automobile Foundation for the acquisition of the building. 51% FCARC/49% Crosley. Crosley was an amateur radio operator: W8XAL.Potential grant funding available through Fulton County and Maumee Valley Planning Association. Insurance from ARRL?

Lifetime memberships. KG8FM submitted a proposition for Lifetime Membership Clause to be added to by-laws. If a member is 62 years old and/or on Social Security= lifetime membership. This is the first of three meetings for which this has been proposed.

VE Testing: The club gives testing at 10:00 am the last Saturday of each month at the Wauseon Administration Building Firemen's Training Room, 230 Clinton Street, Wauseon, OH 43567.
