To all Amateur Radio operators;

As the president of the Fulton County Amateur Radio Club I am putting out A call for help with the upcoming event.

There is a need of operators this weekend to help man the Club station at the Delta Chicken fest. We will be operating the club station in conjunction with the new portable antenna system. Covering the 20m 17m 15m & 10M bands. Anyone who can help to run the station and or help pass out information to inform the public of our mission and purpose and help to recruit new amateurs, I ask that you set any time you have open to answer this call. We will be assisting the Delta Police Dept. again this year on Sunday with traffic control for the Parade. Operations will be conducted on 146.460 FM for all simplex communications. We will also be handing out Water to anyone who is in need.

Please let myself or Craig KD8KBU if you plan to attend. My Home Phone number is 419-822-5038 Due to my work schedule you can just leave A message.

The rigs and antennas are packed away for another year, and so ends Field Day 2012 .  We had great weather for the duration of the contest, and despite 6 and 10 meters being less then optimal, we had pretty good results running as a 6A.  Thanks to everyone who helped with setup and tear down, and everyone who stopped out to talk and observe.  Despite some issues with antenna setup (lessons learned for next year) we had a pretty good setup for a 6A + GOTA.  Here are some highlights from the logging we captured I'd like to share:

OK folks, Field Day is this Saturday and Sunday!  Here is a tentative breakdown of events:

Friday After 5:00pm - Dark: Antenna and Site Prep.  If you have wire antennas or any  site setup prep work that needs to be done, anytime after 5:00pm is fair game to start setup.  We are only running 24 hours, so we are allowed to do this.

Friday 7:00pm - Quick tutorial on the logging software.  If you are running a rig or helping with logging, please try to be there around 7:00pm for a quick 15-20 minute demo of the software.  It's easy to use and helps us compile our score at the end of the event.  If you are running your own laptop, bring it along and I'll get the software installed.  If you do not have a laptop and are running a rig, let me know and I'll bring a spare (I have a few).

Saturday Daybreak - Site setup and prep.

Saturday 10:30am - VE Testing at the Field Day Site

A summary of the FCARC meeting notes for June 18th, 2012:

The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm with 23 members and guests in attendance. Introduction were made and minutes from the previous meeting as well as the treasurer's report were read and accepted.

Committee reports follow:

Education: The VE Team held testing at the Archbold Police Station on May 26th with two people in attendance, both earning Technician.  Th VE team also held a special testing session at the FCARC Hamfest on June 2nd with 4 people attending and two new upgrades to Extra were earned.  We have one more testing session this Saturday in Tedrow at 10:30am during Field Day weekend.  We have two people scheduled so walk0ins are welcome.  Space is limited so we may need to split the test session into a couple of groups.  There will not be a test session on June 30th.

The next club meeting will be held on June 18th at the County Administration Building (same as the Drivers License Bureau), 152 S. Fulton St, Wauseon at 7:30pm.   Field Day is the next weekend, so please attend for the latest Field Day news.

Hi folks,

Field Day 2012 is 21 days out and we are are trying to get a feel for who will be coming out to visit/operate/setup.  Please reply back to me if you are thinking of stopping out during the weekend, if you want to operate at all, or if you want to setup a rig a run.    We would also welcome anyone who wants to assist with logging.  We run a computerized logging system and I will have a demo station setup to show how the software works.  The logging software helps us eliminate duplicates and lets us know when someone else is working a particular band/mode, it also allows us to submit out logs to the ARRL hours after Field Day is over instead of days.
