- Ed Roth passed along a silent key, Stanley Fauver (W8ZHQ) of Wauseon.  While off the air for some time now due to health issues, Stanley was one of the last charter members of the club.  Stanley passed away October 3 at the age of 92.

The following are meeting notes from the September 19th club meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by KD8KBU.  We had 18 people in attendance.  Minutes from the previous meeting were read by KB2AVN and accepted as well as the Treasures report by KB8ELH.  Individual committee and special reports follow.

Education/VE Report:
The VE Team conducted a regularly scheduled testing session on August 27th in Archbold.  We had two people attending, one for technician, one for extra.  Neither passed and no new CSCEs were issued.  KA8KDS reports we have several people scheduled for the September 24th testing session.  The session on the 24th will be held at the Delta Public Library at 12:00pm.

KB8ELG reported the Technician class is going well and the four people who are attending are doing quite well with the curriculum.  There will be a brief review session this Saturday from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the Delta Public Library, where we will have our monthly testing session.

Repeater Committee:

Lockport 5k Run/Walk

Since several people asked, here is the info I could find on the Lockport 5k.

When: Saturday October 8th, 2011, 9:30am
Where: Lockport Mennonite Church, Stryker, OH

We usually try to be there between 8:30 and 9:00 for assignments and setting up the base station at the Church.  The course is run on county roads through Goll Woods.  Things usually wrap up by 11:00am, sometimes sooner.  We have safety vests we'll bring along.  If you bring an HT, make sure you charge up the night before.  Otherwise most operate from their vehicles along the course.   We usually operate on 146.460 FM Simplex.

That's about all the info I have.  If anyone else has anything to add, please send to fcarc at mailman.qth.net.  Direct questions right to me by replying to this message.

August Meeting Notes

The following are meeting notes from the August 15th club meeting:

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by KB8ELG.  We had 23 members and 3 guests in attendance.  Minutes from the previous meeting were read by KB2AVN and accepted as well as the Treasures report by KB8ELH.  Individual committee and special reports follow.

Members in distress:
One of our club members, Owen Hinkle (AC8OH) is on the mend after suffering a mild heart attack.  Owen is at the Findlay Hospital but set to go home soon.  Owens address is 3806 Bright Rd, Apt 304, Findlay, OH, 45840 if you want to drop him a line and wish him well.

Old Business:
The club purchased three assembled and finished picnic tables from a local Fulton County wood shop for $150 total and donated them to Jim Roth for use at the Roth Family Woodlot in Tedrow.  The tables were delivered as a surprise by kb8elg and kd8kbu and, needless to say, well received.  We thank Jim and the Roth family for having out for our Hamfest and Field Day year after year.
