the Delta PD reached out to KB8ELG and requested our help with traffic control on July 9th for the 10:30 am Chicken Fest parade. If you are able to assist, please contact KB8ELG and let him know. We need to meet at the Delta PD building at 10:00 am. The usual applies: 2 meter FM radio, spare if possible, sunscreen, hat, water, high-visibility vest if you have one. We are usually done well before noon.
The transmitters and antennas are stowed away, and Field Day 2022 is in the books. While the solar cycle continues to ramp up, the bands were as unpredictable as ever. Some highlights were the number of guests who stopped out to experience and try their hand at various HF communication techniques, as well as the return to our potluck dinner now that we are emerging from what felt like a never-ending pandemic. Thanks to everyone who set up and operated and made our club's Field Day operation a welcoming event to all.
